AGE, NO BARRIER to ANYTHING

Age Should Never be a Barrier

Growing older is something that happens to all of us unless you die young. We should be grateful for being able to grow older or even old. Nowadays, age is no barrier to anything anymore. It never was, although we were made to believe it was. So stop telling yourself constantly you are going senile when you happen to forget something, hey, come on, we all forget something from time to time. At any age..!

Getting Older is a Fact of Life — Going Senile is Not !

The human race is growing much older than ever before. I just read today that Australians in 2016 are now #7 in the world when it comes to life expectancy for males & females. Males 80.3 years and females 84.4.years. Six other countries do even better, they are Japan, Italy, Switzerland, Iceland, Israel, and Sweden.

Start Planning

Shouldn’t you start planning what to do with all these extra years of living? With such a remarkable, amazing, brilliant brain, we all possess, there are no limits to the possibilities. Whatever you can think of, you can do. You are the creator of your own life. You are where you are today simply because of what you thought, said and did. Age has nothing to do with it. The sooner you are going to believe this, the quicker you’ll be able to bring that “something” you thought of, into existence.  Begin by BELIEVING that you can..!

Henry Ford was spot on in saying: “If you think you can or if you think you can’t, either way, you are right. And ” Napoleon Hill said: Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve,”

You Can even increase your income – if you wanted to.

Many Baby Boomers, Retirees, and even much younger ones can’t make ends meet in today’s world. For some, it’s a daily struggle trying to pay their bills, their mortgage or rent, or get proper food on the table. Others have had to severely curtail their lifestyle. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. I say you deserve better at your age. You should be able to go out for dinner, buy that new piece of clothing, that pair of shoes, birthday presents for you grandchildren, a nice getaway or even a holiday.

Thinking Smarter

You have to start thinking smarter, believing that you can and be prepared to act on it.  You might want to read the third paragraph of this post, once again.

Thinking Smarter could mean – Being more Creative – Thinking  Possibilities – Asking yourself, How Can I Change this or that – Who can Help me Achieve that – What am I Good at – What Motivates Me – What is my Passion – and so on. All these questions are bound to give you more Positive Answers.

An excellent book to read about all the above is, “Success Engineering” and “Luck Engineering” by Phil Gosling. Just Google it, I am sure you’ll find it.

 Why Not?

Instead of Saying  – Why me- Why this- Why that- Why can’t I have this- Why can’t I do that- Why does this always happen to me-  Why, Why, Why…….?

Just forget that word “WHY” altogether in that context from now on. Those questions will never give you a positive answer. If you are going to use the word “WHY”, at least change it to “WHY NOT”.

Start asking yourself Good Questions in order to get Good Answers. You will surprise yourself how Creative your Thoughts will become. And the Answers that follow from it and the ACTIONS  you will hopefully take will help you go forward. As they say, Actions speak louder than words.

50 – 60- 70 – 95 – So What?

Forget about what age you are, it’s got nothing to do with it..! These Q & A’s  will keep your brain busy and exercised and prevent it from going senile. Isn’t that the most important thing you could “give” to YOURSELF..?

About the author

Tina Blauw

I am a 85-year-old lady who started blogging to get my message out to as many women as possible. My main reason for writing is to make you as a women, of sixty and beyond, realise that you probably have another (40) years of living ahead of you. What are you going to do with those years? Some years ago I coined a phrase: “Always be Curious About Life…that Way You’ll Stay Right in It..!” My wish is to impart that into you. I live on the Gold Coast, Australia with my lovely husband. We moved here from Melbourne a couple of years ago to be closer to our daughter and her partner, our 2 grown up grandchildren and their partners and our 4 small great-grandchildren with #5 on the way :)
